Used Clothes Recycle by H&M // Fashion News

Every season, most of us gather piles of clothes that we don't want anymore, that don't fit or are damaged. Those that are in good condition can be given to the Red Cross or other organizations that take care of many people in need and we all know that the number is growing very fast lately... But what happens to the clothes that are damaged? Well, it seems that H&M has the answer!

H&M will be collecting used clothes from any brand and in any condition at its stores worldwide to be recycled, starting February 2013. In exchange for a bag of clothes, the shoppers will receive a 15% discount coupon for future H&M purchases. Collected clothes will be handled by I:Collect, a global recycling company, which reprocesses consumer goods and makes them available for new use. The material could then either be re-used as clothes or for other products like cleaning rags or insulation material in the car industry.

Through this global initiative, H&M says customers can save natural resources and contribute to reduced environmental impact by avoiding textile waste. "We want to do good for the environment, which is why we are now offering our customers a convenient solution: to leave their worn out or defective garments with H&M," CEO Karl-Johan Persson said in a statement.

Great news for 3 reasons:
1. Recycling instead of littering the environment
2. 15% discount voucher @H&M
3. More space in our closets!
