Catwoman is back! // Blockbusters

Catwoman has been my favorite comic action anti-hero since like forever, alongside Batman who is my favorite comic hero. Mysterious, independent, fast, sexy and a bit "bitchy", she is my ultimate female avenger. Oh, and that catsuit...

Christopher Nolan is bringing her back in his new Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" which, according to IMDB, will be released on July 20 2012 and Anne Hathaway has been cast for this part.

The original and most widely known Catwoman, Selina Kyle, first appears in Batman #1 (Spring 1940) in which she is known as The Cat. She is an adversary of Batman, known for having a complex love-hate (often romantic) relationship with him. What a couple!!

Catwoman has been featured in most media adaptations related to Batman. Actresses Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt introduced her to a large audience on the 1960s Batman television series and the 1966 Batman motion picture (all three in below photo).

Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed the character in 1992's Batman Returns, which was the one that I fell for! She made the character her property and moved to the next level of sexiness.

Halle Berry starred in a stand-alone Catwoman film in 2004, which was a box-office flop, and was not based on the Batman character. A bad movie that gave Halle the Razzie Award for Worst Actress in 2005. She actually went there and accepted her award, she also gave a speech! How cool was that?

Here are some photos from the shootings of "The Dark Knight Rises", where Anne looks very very classy. Can a girl as cute and sweet as Anne be appropriate for that part? We'll find out soon.

And this is the movie's official trailer.

So, which one is your favorite Catwoman?? Do you agree with me that Michelle was the best? Do you think that Anne will change the character into a classier one? Would you prefer that instead? Dying to know what you think!
