Just like many Greek students of my generation, I went for my master's degree to the UK. To be more precise, I graduated from the University of Surrey, in Guildford, England with an MSc in Human Resource Management. It was a truly intense and quite stressful experience with a lot of mental and physical effort in order to pull off the demanding program, but also very exciting for meeting and getting to know people from different countries, cultures and ages. There I was in 2001 sucking up huge amounts of knowledge and at the same time discovering some of my favorite high-street brands: TopShop, River Island, Accessorize, French Connection, Karen Millen and many more.

As you can realize, living in England for a year, although a short period of time, surely affected me in many ways including my personal style. After all that said, today's outfit is based on two of the most iconic British fashion items: the Trench coat and the Oxford shoes. The beige trench is a closet basic, an essential piece that everyone should own, men included! You can wear it day and night, at the office or out for a coffee, basically in any semi-formal or casual occasion. It is mostly a Spring/Fall item that can elevate a simple look or just keep the chill away. The oxfords, on the other hand, are not that essential for women as they are for men, but they are comfortable, chic and can help you pull off an androgyny look. I prefer them soft and with a single sole, but this is up to anyone's personal taste.

Have you ever lived in the UK? Did that affect you in any way?

xoxo
